Michiganders have been facing the first heat wave of summer past few days, but temperatures are expected to drop as early as Tuesday night, the Detroit National Weather Service (NWS) office says.
Temperatures could reach 98 degrees on June 23 in southeast Michigan, but thunderstorms Tuesday should bring some relief, according to the NWS. The storms, however, could bring large hail, damaging winds and heavy rainfall.
“There is a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms on Tuesday as a front drifts south over the area,” a post from NWS Detroit said.
After the storms temperatures should drop into the 80s.
