Vote for the Blue Water Area Athlete of the Week for May 19-24

It’s time for the latest Blue Water Area Athlete of the Week poll. Now we need your help to determine a winner.

Voting ends at noon on Friday.

Last week’s winner was St. Clair girls tennis’ Haylee Mills, who won the Division 3, Region 21 championship at No. 1 singles on May 14. In addition winning every set in the regional tournament, she helped the Saints place first and advance to the state finals.

Listed below are this week’s candidates in alphabetical order. To vote, please use the poll at the bottom of this page. You can vote once an hour.

Lola Battaglia — Almont girls soccer: Battaglia scored six goals in the Raiders’ 8-0 win over Croswell-Lexington in a Division 3 district quarterfinal on May 21. She also had one assist.

Tyler Bush — Sandusky baseball: Bush went 3-for-3 at the plate with one RBI and scored two runs in the Wolves’ 8-7 win over Croswell-Lexington on May 19.

Saige Cole — Yale girls track & field: At the Blue Water Meet of Champions on May 22, Cole won the girls 1,600 meters with a time of 5:26.63. That finish was a personal record.

Kai Fisher — Memphis boys track & field: Fisher won the boys 400 meters with a time of 50.74 seconds at the Blue Water Meet of Champions on May 22. That finish set a personal record.
