It is going to be a warm and wet weekend in Binghamton starting May 16.
National Weather Service Binghamton meteorologist Ema Sera said to expect scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the weekend, with the possibility for a strong storm on May 17.
Temperatures are expected to be warm May 16-17 before a cold front moves in on May 18.

May 16 weather in Binghamton, NY
Sera said to expect rain throughout the late morning and early afternoon of May 16, with the chance of “gusty winds to accompany the showers” as well.
There is a 70% chance of precipitation, with showers and possible thunderstorms in the forecast all afternoon. The high on May 16 will be near 81 degrees.
The evening has a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms with mostly cloudy skies and a low near 61 degrees.
May 17 weather in Binghamton, NY
There is a 90% chance of showers and the possibility of a thunderstorm on the afternoon of May 17, with a high near 79 degrees.
While it will be rainy all weekend, Sera said the likelihood for a “strong isolated storm” is highest on the afternoon of May 17 as a cold front moves through the Binghamton area.
There is a 40% chance of precipitation in the evening, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11 p.m. and then a chance of showers after 11 p.m. The low is expected to be around 54 degrees.
May 18 weather in Binghamton, NY
Sera said lingering showers are expected throughout the morning and afternoon, but the chance of precipitation is lower than the days prior.
There is a 40% chance of showers after 8 a.m., with partly sunny skies and a high near 64 degrees.
The evening is expected to be dry, with mostly cloudy skies and a low around 45 degrees.
