BELDING — A 7-year-old girl was transported by helicopter with life-threatening injuries after a May 11 head-on collision on M-44 in in Belding, northwest of Ionia.
The girl was a passenger in a Cadillac CTS eastbound on M-44 when it crossed the center turn lane and struck a westbound Chevy Silverado truck near Orchard Street at about 1:45 p.m., the Belding Police Department said in a release.
The 7-year-old was transported to Corewell Health’s Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, police said.
A 28-year-old Belding woman driving the Cadillac and the passenger in the Chevy pickup truck, a 49-year-old Greenville woman, were transported to Corewell Health hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
The pickup’s driver, a 49-year-old Conklin man, was not injured, police said.
The Ionia County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies assisted Belding police.
