Travelers heading into Canada faced long backups at the Blue Water Bridge after a Canadian Customs system outage brought traffic to a crawl.
At the height of the disruption, drivers reported waiting more than two hours to cross westbound into Canada. In contrast, vehicles entering the U.S. experienced shorter wait times, ranging from 45–60 minutes for passenger cars and 30–45 minutes for commercial trucks.

Officials confirmed the outage has been resolved, but the breakdown created a significant backlog that is still being cleared. All primary inspection lanes are now back online, and Canadian authorities say they are working with partners to stabilize systems and manage traffic flow until congestion eases.
Despite progress, motorists should still expect delays as the bridge gradually returns to normal operations.
