Port Huron Elks Lodge 343 – Veterans Corner #50

The Port Huron Elks Lodge 343 and Elks National Veterans Service Commission (ENVSC) hosted our 3rd annual Veterans Appreciation Day and Luncheon on Wednesday, May 28th. Over 110 Veterans and over 50 spouses attended this free event, which was open to all Veterans, active Military Personnel & Spouses. Services in attendance were the St. Clair County & Sanilac County Department of Veterans Affairs, Michigan Veteran Homes At Chesterfield Township, Detroit VA Health Care System, St. Clair County Community Mental Health, St. Clair County Council on Aging, VA Home Telehealth, SCCCC (College) Veterans and Records, Disability Network Eastern Michigan, Volunteers of America, CapTel captioned Phones, McLaren-Port Huron Yale VA Clinic, just to name a few, with twenty-five total.

Many free personal services were available, such as, Massage Chair Therapy by Amy Pavlov, Hair Cuts by Kaylee Plummer & Destinee Allen, Manicures by Bridget Smith, a MIA/POW table ceremony was presented by David K. Hoffman, US Army, and the Port Huron Schubert Male Chorus performed a medley of Military songs. A luncheon was available throughout the event which included Ham, Turkey or Italian Wraps, potato chips, homemade chocolate chip cookies by Karen Harris, coffee, and bottled water.

Thank you to all the Elk Volunteers who made this such an enjoyable and successful event, proving once again that, Elk’s Care ~ Elk’s Share.
