Michigan State got the better of East Carolina on Tuesday afternoon, beating the Pirates 89-56 in the first of two games for both teams in the Fort Myers Tip-Off. A tough game for ECU, who is shorthanded due to a ton of injury problems within the program, and now fall to 2-4 on the season.
Following the game, Pirates head coach Mike Schwartz spoke to the media about the performance. Further, he praised Tom Izzo and the program he has built in East Lansing.
Schwartz also noted that his team could have done better not letting MSU play to their strengths in the contest, that it was something they could control, but did not do.

ECU will play St. Bonaventure on Thursday in the second game of the Fort Myers Tip-Off.
