Terrion Arnold still is in concussion protocol more than two weeks after he suffered a brain injury, but Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell said there is enough time for Arnold to make it back for this week’s Thanksgiving game against the Green Bay Packers.
Arnold was listed as a limited participant on the Lions’ estimated practice report Monday, Nov. 24.
The Lions (7-4) held a walk-through instead of a practice Monday, and will do the same Tuesday.
“Yeah, he can come back as long as he cleared today, which he cleared, the first hurdle of that,” Campbell said. “We did some stuff with him and so it’s a checkmark for Day 1. We’ll see, see how he feels tomorrow and see where it’s at and go from there.”
Arnold has missed two straight games and has not practiced since suffering a brain injury in the Lions’ Nov. 9 win over the Washington Commanders.
Once he fully clears protocol, he’ll join a secondary that’s slowly getting healthy for the stretch run.
No. 1 cornerback D.J. Reed came off injured reserve to play in last week’s win over the New York Giants and safety Kerby Joseph is expected back from a knee injury soon, though he was listed as a non-participant on Monday’s practice report.
Campbell said the Lions haven’t decided yet when or if to activate two players whose practice windows are set to expire this week, rookie guard Miles Frazier, who is on the physically unable to perform list recovering from a spring knee injury, and defensive tackle Josh Paschal, who’s on the PUP list coming off back surgery.
