In the penultimate week of the 2025 college football season, No. 18 Michigan faces one final road test before welcoming archrival Ohio State to Ann Arbor in their finale.
While next week’s rivalry tilt against the Buckeyes looms large, the Wolverines (8-2, 6-1 Big Ten) can’t look ahead past today’s opponent, Maryland (4-6, 1-6). While Michigan enters as a 14-point favorite over the Terrapins, the Wolverines have not fared well against the spread throughout the season, compiling a 3-7 record against the number in 2025 (per Covers.com).
Since a Week 7 loss at USC, Michigan has won four straight against Washington (24-7), Michigan State (31-20), Purdue (21-16) and Northwestern (24-22). Meanwhile, Maryland has host six in a row following a 4-0 start to its season. The Wolverines are one road win away from setting up another big-time matchup with Ohio State, with Big Ten championship implications, next week.

Injury Report
Michigan’s depth at linebacker continues to be tested, as starting linebacker Ernest Hausmann has been listed as ‘Out’ today against Maryland. The Wolverines have previously suffered injuries at the positions in Jimmy Rolder, Cole Sullivan and linebacker/edge rusher hybrid Jaishawn Barham. If there’s a silver lining, none of those three players are listed on the injury report.
As expected, the Wolverines will be without star running back Justice Haynes, and backup Jordan Marshall is ‘Questionable’ following an injury in last week’s game vs. Northwestern.
