Muskallonge State Park
The campground at Muskallonge State Park in Newberry will be closed June 16 to Oct. 1 to renovate the toilet and shower building and improve the parking areas and roads.
Orchard Beach State Park
The modern campground at Orchard Beach State Park in Manistee is closed Sept. 2 for the 2025 season for a planned project to renovate the toilet and shower buildings.
Otsego Lake State Park
The campground Otsego Lake State Park in Gaylord clsoed Aug. 4 for the remainder of the camping season to improve the electrical and septic systems and convert 44 campsites to full-hookup. The new closure date comes after the project was postponed.
Petoskey State Park
Petoskey State Park in Petoskey closed Sept. 3 and is expected to reopen in mid-May 2026. The park will be closed to all use after Labor Day for a sewer system and sanitation upgrades.
Pinckney State Recreation Area
The Bruin Lake modern campground and Crooked Lake rustic campground at Pinckney State Recreation Area in Gregory will remain closed for the entire 2025 camping season to upgrade the sanitation station, north toilet and shower building and park roads.
Sleepy Hollow State Park
The modern campground at Sleepy Hollow State Park in Laingsburg will be closed April 15 to Oct. 31, 2025, to replace the toilet and shower building, pave campground roads and update the beach building.
Traverse City State Park
The Traverse City State Park campground in Traverse City closed July 7 through the 2026 camping season. The park will get new camping amenities, enhanced day-use areas and improved vehicle and pedestrian access. The lodge will also be closed and torn down. The day-use area and beach will remain open.
Twin Lakes State Park
The modern campground and mini at Twin Lakes State Park in Toivola is closed for the 2025 season for park enhancements, including a new toilet shower building and upgraded sewer system.
Van Buren State Park
Van Buren State Park in South Haven Township, including the campground and day-use areas, closed Sept. 2 for a lagoon rehabilitation and beach access improvement project. A reopening date has not been set, but is anticipated for spring or early summer 2026.
