A crackling fire, sunlit street, diner coffee, scenic trail and Ford Field decked in Honolulu blue.
The familiar clips roll in, one after another, and are an ode to all things Michigan.
“This is where we live,” actor Jeff Daniels, who was raised in Michigan, narrates.
The scenes, new commercials for Henry Ford Health, blasted across televisions on Thanksgiving during two traditions also familiar to Michiganders − America’s Thanksgiving Parade and the Lions turkey day game.
The 30-second ads are meant to take viewers outside of the hospital and into everyday life, according to a news release. The TV spots feature Brandie Mitchell, a nurse at Henry Ford Providence Novi Hospital, and Dr. Steven Chang, a surgeon and cancer researcher, both outside of work taking a stroll and in the hospital doing their job. Envy, a golden retriever from the health system’s therapy dog program, also shows up on screen with the health care workers.
“Our breakthroughs and care mean so much, particularly when they make a real difference for our neighbors right here at home,” said Bob Riney, Henry Ford Health’s president and CEO, in a news release. The campaign is meant to be a love letter to Michigan and the residents who call it home.
Anthony Garth, known for the Pure Michigan campaign, directed the Henry Ford ads. They feature places like Duly’s in southwest Detroit; trails and lakes in the village of Metamora, and Jefferson Iron Works in Ferndale.
Henry Ford Health, based in Detroit, has more than 550 sites across southeast and central Michigan, and employs 55,000 people.
