A major winter storm plowed into Michigan this week, dropping heavy snow in the western UP and northern Lower Peninsula, and while many people hunkered down indoors, some intrepid souls went out and collected video to share.
From Michigan’s western border in the UP to Lake Erie in the south, Michiganders were out this week taking video of snow, downed trees, big waves and a seiche — and then sharing that online.
The storm, still underway on Thanksgiving, Nov. 27, had already dropped as much as 2 feet of snow in some places. Wind gusts along Lake Michigan topped 60 mph near Ludington.
In addition, more than 25,000 people were without power as of Thanksgiving morning, mostly in the Upper Peninsula.
