I guess because it came and went so fast, that I didn’t realize until later, that the letter ” Z ” is almost as common in Canada as it is in America. Just about everyone, at least in Ontario, pronounces the last letter of the alphabet as ZEE. Maybe it’s because of the fact that we are in the vicinity of the U.S. in Southwestern Ontario.
Being a former broadcaster, I am conscious of dialect and phrasing. We have (for the time being) a great-granddaughter who is just a year old staying with us. Amongst her first birthday presents was a table, filled with a variety of items that have different tunes; from London Bridge to the ABC song.
You know.. A-B-C-D-E-F- all the way through to—X-Y-ZED!
I was truly amazed…so many toys are manufactured in the United States that I figured the song would automatically end with W-X-Y-ZEE. But there it was in plain English so to speak….a Canadian ZED.
Only in Canada, eh?
THE LIVING WORD
YOU MAY BE THE ONLY ONE
TO TELL A LIVING SOIUL,
ABOUT THE BIBLE, AND SALVATION,
AND HOW IT MAKES ONE WHOLE.
WE ARE LIVING EXAMPLES
OF THE WORD OF A OIVIOG GOD
AND WE HAVE TO MANIFEST HIM
OR WE”LL BE CONSIDERED “ODD”‘.
HE IS OUR HOLY FATHER,
AND THROUGH HIS WORD WE KNOW
HE’S A FATHER TO THE ORPHAN
AND HUSBAND TO THE WIDOW.
ON TOP OF THAT HE IS
A BROTHER, AND A FRIEND
BUT MORE THAN THAT. HE SUSTAINES
AND BLESSES TO THE END.
IF WE SUBMIT TO GOD ALONE,
AND GLADLY DO HIS BIDDING
WE MANIFEST THE THINGS HE DOES
AND GLADLY EARN HIS BLESSINGS.
