Prep roundup; Grand Ledge, Okemos sweep CAAC Blue doubleheaders

BASEBALL

GRAND LEDGE 12, WAVERLY 1 / GRAND LEDGE 15, WAVERLY 2

Jackson Davis had a double, home run and four RBI in game two to help the Comets secure a pair of CAAC Blue wins over Waverly. Austin Schilling finished with four RBI and three stolen bases, Carson Marlan tallied two hits and drove in three runs and Tyler Terranova scored five runs for Grand Ledge. Gabe Hemlick notched an RBI for the Warriors.

OKEMOS 10, HOLT 3 / OKEMOS 10, HOLT 7

Keagan Noble went a combined 5-for-6 with a double, a home run and notched the save in game two to push the Wolves to a CAAC Blue sweep over Holt. Jimmy Pignataro tallied the win in game one and added three hits with two RBI and Xavier Sapotichny picked up the win in game two to go with six strikeouts for Okemos. Ethan Parce went 3-for-4 for the Rams.

LANSING CATHOLIC 9, PORTLAND 0 / LANSING CATHOLIC 6, PORTLAND 4

Ethan Link and Noah Jungwirth each hit home runs in the Cougars’ 9-0 win over Portland. Elijah Jungwirth struck out nine while hurling a complete game one-hitter in the opener and added two hits and two RBI while helping Lansing Catholic complete the CAAC White sweep with its 6-4 win.

OVID-ELSIE 12, BYRON 2 / OVID-ELSIE 14, BYRON 1

Trey Palatka led the Marauders with four hits, four RBI and the win on the mound in game one as Ovid-Elsie secured a pair of wins over Byron. Brody Howard notched a home run and drove in four runs and Lance Wiktorowski chipped in four hits and four RBI for Ovid-Elsie.

PORTLAND ST. PATRICK 15, PEWAMO-WESTPHALIA 0 / PEWAMO-WESTPHALIA 3, PORTLAND ST. PATRICK 0

Mason Simon went 3-for-3 with two doubles and four RBI while leading the Shamrocks in their three inning 15-0 victory over Pewamo-Westphalia. B. Kramer allowed just four hits while hurling a complete game shutout for P-W in its 3-0 win.

SOFTBALL

WILLIAMSTON 8, PORTLAND 6

Sidney Fortin went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI to help propel the Hornets to a victory over Portland. Olivia Yadav notched the win and Anabelle Wortman and Shea O’Neil each picked up a pair of RBI for Williamston. Veda Smith and Rylee Miller each finished with two hits and an RBI for the Raiders.

DANSVILLE 13, LAINGSBURG 9 / LAINGSBURG 10, DANSVILLE 0

Savvy Stirm went 6-for-8 with four doubles and six runs scored to help the Wolfpack split a CMAC double-header with Dansville. Bella Latuszek finished with two hits and four RBI and Harper Strouse notched a home run with 2RBI for Laingsburg. Laci Neal went 3-for-4 in game one with a home run and four RBI and Maddi Carter and Bree Delano each notched two hits for the Aggies.

FOWLER 17, BATH 7 / BATH 6, FOWLER 5

Selena Stump had a solo home run while playing a role in a seven-run seventh inning that helped send Fowler to its 17-7 win over Bath in the opener. Addison Spicer added five RBI in the win. Bath capitalized on an error to score the go-ahead run in the top of the sixth while earning the CMAC doubleheader split. Spicer added two RBI for Fowler in the finale.

EATON RAPIDS 8, SPRINGPORT 7 / EATON RAPIDS 3, SPRINGPORT 1

Mae Schutte and Kalli Ordiway each picked up wins for the Greyhounds in a pair of nonleague victories over Springport. Mallory Smith went 3-for-3 with a double, a triple and two RBI in game one and Cheyenne Drinkwater tacked on three hits and three RBI for Eaton Rapids.

GIRLS TENNIS

WILLIAMSTON 6, ST. JOHNS 2

The doubles teams of Audrey Grocki/Addison Hitchcock and Tessa Jesse/Abby Redoutey each secured wins to help the Hornets secure the CAAC Red win over St. Johns. Emersyn Sturgis and Callie Morrison each picked up singles wins for the Redwings.

GOLF

BATH 166, PORTLAND ST. PATRICK 180

Max McCallister and Jacob Staake each had rounds of 40 and Sam Dunckel fired a 41 while leading the Bees in their CMAC win over Portland St. Patrick. Tyler Schneider finished as the medalist for Portland St. Patrick and had a round of 39.

GIRLS SOCCER

HOLT 8, EVERETT 0

Rylie Ysasi netted a hat-trick and dished out two assists to lead the Rams past Everett for CAAC Blue victory. Emma Bossenbroek finished with two goals and Sawyer Nelson tacked on a goal and two assists for Holt.
