The Detroit Lions will face the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving without three current starters and a key special teams player as well.
The Lions ruled out five players for Thursday’s game on the short week:
The big news here is Glasgow and Wright each being out. Both played in the Week 12 win over the Giants but did not practice at all during the shortened week. Wright was already a replacement starter for Sam LaPorta, who had season-ending back surgery earlier in November.
Joseph, an All-Pro in 2024, will miss his sixth straight game. Thomas Harper has been the primary fill-in.
Trystan Colon is expected to fill in for Glasgow at center, though the team also has Michael Niese on the active roster.
The picture at tight end is cloudier. Ross Dwelley becomes the only active TE on the roster, though the team does have open roster spots to add someone like veteran Anthony Firkser from the practice squad. Offensive tackle Dan Skipper can also function as an inline blocking TE.
Raymond’s role at receiver should go to rookie Isaac TeSlaa. As for return duties, RB Jacob Saylors took those reps in Week 12 following Raymond’s injury. Saylors was limited in practice all week but does not carry any injury designation for Thursday’s game.
