Lakeview's Renee Buchholz leads 2025 Enquirer All-City Volleyball Team

BATTLE CREEK – A new starting lineup. Fresh, young faces throughout the roster. But that didn’t slow down Lakeview as the Spartans won a second-straight district title and made their second appearance in a row in the regional finals.

Add an All-City Tournament championship to the mix and that’s a lot of highlights for the Lakeview volleyball program and their second-year head coach.

The Battle Creek Enquirer All-City Volleyball Team is made up of members of the city volleyball teams and voted on by the city coaches and the Enquirer sports staff.

The All-City Coach of the Year honor goes to Buchholz as she led Lakeview to a Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference East Division title and a Division 1 district championship with a 39-9-7 record overall. During the 2025 campaign, Buchholz also was on the sidelines as Lakeview won the All-City Volleyball Tournament championship.

Buchholz led Lakeview to a regional title a year ago, but with heavy graduation losses, the Spartans didn’t know what to expect this season with a new lineup. However, Lakeview was back in the regional finals again with a group of new starters.

Buccholz is joined on the all-city team by Lakeview standouts Lanie Overbeek, Emerson Manning, Sydney Manning and Abbigail Taft.

Harper Creek also won a league title and a district crown, going 31-22-1 overall, with all-city picks Camille Robinson, Taegen Anderson and Andersyn King.

St. Philip also came away with a district championship and is represented by Addi Dzwik and Adriana Olsen.

Pennfield adds Irellynn Sedore and Natalie Jackson to the all-city roster with Battle Creek Central’s Airyana Robinson and Calhoun Christian’s Elliana Olds also making the team.
