BoE's Bailey says gradual rate cut view is not a prediction for August

LONDON (Reuters) -The Bank of England’s expectation that interest rates will move gradually downwards is not a prediction for its next policy decision in August, Governor Andrew Bailey said on Thursday.

“I expect that the path of interest rates will continue to be gradually downwards. Now I’m not giving you a prediction on August by saying that,” Bailey said in a video clip published on the BoE’s LinkedIn page.
