Watch – The General George S. Patton Story

Watch the Story of one of America’s Most Famous Generals.

General George S. Patton

There are a lot of different varying opinions on what type of man General George S. Patton was, but few would deny that America might never have had a more brilliant military mind. He was a tough man who didn’t confuse politics with war(That would get him in trouble from time to time) He was a man who demanded everything from himself, and those serving under him. While Patton is best known for his service in World War II, it was far from his first military experience. Patton actually began his service in 1909 and would go on to serve in World War I quickly making the rank of Captain and he would go on to become a Colonel before the war was over. Patton continued serving his country in the interwar years before his well-decorated command in World War II.

Patton can best be described through his own words. Saying…

Better to fight for something than live for nothing.

-General George S. Patton

He was a military man through and through, and at times felt lost when the world wasn’t at war. He wrote in his diary…

“Yet another war has come to an end, and with it my usefulness to the world.”

-General George S. Patton

Tragically, Patton was killed in Germany shortly after the War in December of 1945. He died from complications of what was ruled to be an accident after being hit by a vehicle. Some debate has been made about if the accident was actually an assassination attempt, but nothing was ever proven.
