Quicksand was released on March 24th, 1950. The film starred Hollywood icon Mickey Rooney, as well as Peter Lorre, Jeanne Cagney, Barbara Bates, and more. Irving Pichel was the director of this movie. Pichel also directed The Most Dangerous Game, a popular film from 1932.
Quicksand follows the story of a mechanic named Dan Brady (Rooney) in California. Brady steals a small amount of money from his auto shop’s register with the intention to pay it back after his date with a girl named Vera (Cagney). After Brady’s small theft, he keeps finding himself in worsening situations, similar to the effects of someone struggling in quick sand.
