According to NASA, the Apollo 13 mission lasted was 5 days, 22 hours, 54 minutes, and 41 seconds. While that number might technically be true, it had to feel like a lifetime for the astronauts, anyone involved at NASA and really the entire country. The nation was captured by the story of the Apollo 13 mission, and despite being a failed mission in terms of their original objective (to land on the moon), the story would become a success story for the American people and their ingenuity. When everything goes wrong, when all hope looks to be lost, NASA & America persevered.
