By Arica Frisbey of Sanilac Broadcasting

A two-vehicle accident on Tuesday night in Marlette Township has left one driver injured, according to the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched shortly after 7:00 p.m. on January 31 to South Van Dyke and Reynolds Roads, arriving at the scene with Marlette Police, Fire and EMS in tow.

Initial investigation found that a 2001 Chevrolet S10 driven by a 52-year-old Millington man was traveling west on Reynolds Rd when he attempted to turn south on Van Dyke Road from Reynolds and failed to yield the right of way. As a result, he was struck by a 2004 Buick Reiner being driven north by a 24-year-old Sandusky woman.

The Millington man was transported to McLaren Port Huron for injuries sustained in the crash, with it unclear if the woman was harmed during the accident as well.

Police believe that alcohol and speed are not factors in the collision.
