The 92 Year Old Deputy

Sheriff Tim Donnellon and the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department recently honored William “Bill” Turney, a well-decorated World War II Veteran with an honorary Deputy Sheriff certificate. Mr. Turney wanted to be a law enforcement officer after the war was over but was declined admission to the police force in 1945 due to a height restriction for officers. Bill would instead go on to serve the Blue Water Area as a mailman for over 30 years.

We want to thank Sheriff Donnellon and the St. Clair County Sheriff’s department for honoring this local hero.

Stay tuned to Blue Water Healthy Living for Bill Turney’s World War II combat story.
