St. Clair native Cronenworth picks up first MLB career hit

By Joseph Hayes

And with it, comes many firsts. That includes the first career hit of St. Clair High School graduate Jacob Cronenworth, now with the San Diego Padres.

“It was awesome to see someone who works so hard at his craft be rewarded with such an opportunity,” St. Clair High School baseball coach Dennis White said. “Jacob has always been the poster child for what hard work will get you.

“In high school he would come back after practice to hit in the cage and he did the same at Michigan. He is certainly an inspiration to SC athletes from Little League through the Varsity. We have always taken great pride in not only his accomplishments but also in how he plays the game.”
