Our Open House gives us a chance to connect with you and reflect on our first watershed center home. For 2.5 years this space elevated our presence and gave us power to connect with people. This fall, this iconic landmark will come down to make room for more wildlife habitat.

Records dating back to the 1920’s show the River Rat’s history is rooted in the industrial era of the St. Clair River – ferry docks, shipping and railroads. Fast forward to 2010 when philanthropist, Dr. James C. Acheson, donated the Blue Water River Walk waterfront property to the Community Foundation of St. Clair County and in 2017, the Community Foundation gave use of the building to Friends of the St. Clair River.

Come celebrate our move with a forward look to the next 10 years of having our hands in the dirt, feet in the water, boots on the ground to build up clean water, healthy rivers and green spaces for Michigan’s Thumb Coast.

Stay up to date on the Journey To Our New Watershed Center Home.
