Algonac meanwhile defeated Almont, 44-27, and Armada, 38-27.
Ryan Osterland (215) and Jake Kasner (145) were each notable performers for Algonac, picking up a pair of victories on the night.
“Last year we had 13 seniors and we only returned four starters from last year,” Algonac coach Brian Ranger said. “We knew it could be very up and down this year. We are very young.
“We are excited to keep growing and improving. It’s kind of one eye on the present and one eye on the future this year.”
Wesley Peters (171) and Dan McKiernan (285) meanwhile were two of the notable performers that went undefeated for Richmond at 2-0.
“I was happy just with our effort,” Richmond coach Brandon Day said. “I have no problem with kids making mistakes. If the effort is there we will fix them.
“If we can get a kid to believe what we are saying and to have confidence, it’s high school, anything is possible.”
