**Editor’s Note** This Refash was originally from Marisa competed in Season 3 of an online refashion competition called, “Refashion Runway”. Each week the contestants had a challenge, and for this particular week the challenge was, “Boho Chic”. Enjoy!” **
This weeks challenge is boho chic!
I’ve been hanging onto this dress since the beginning of this challenge and couldn’t wait to get started on it! Not going to lie, it’s pretty cute as is!

What boho chic outfit is complete without a vest!?
This is where this blazer comes in! I figured this faux suede blazer would be perfect for a fringe vest!
I removed the collar and the sleeves…
I cut some fringe and made triangle cutouts.
I sewed on some leather and attached 3 wood beads and a feather onto the sides.
I used the leftover material from the sleeves to make myself a purse!
I attached some leather cord for a strap.
I must admit this was the first time I have tried to dye something. And I am very happy with how it turned out for my first time. I added white embellishments to my dress.
And I added fabric patches from an old shirt that I had in my refash pile.
I am so pleased with how this turned out! I even wore it to the park to play a round of bocce ball with the husband and our roomie!
A close up of my awesome new purse!
We even went out to dinner and I got an umbrella in my drink!
Hi there! Welcome to my little blog! My name is Marisa, phonetically that’s Marie-sa! My goal is to change the way you look at outdated clothes by making you think outside the stitch! I am a dental hygienist by trade but that leaves me longing to show my creative side and having something more fashionable to wear than scrubs! I have always been interested in fashion and for years I have been dabbling in creating my own clothes. Now is the time to seriously get into refashioning and encourage you to do the same! I hope this little blog of mine inspires you not to pass up those oversized unsightly pieces of clothing but to transform them into something beautiful! Happy Refashioning!
