Press Release: Alcohol sales compliance checks

On Monday, November 22, 2021, the Port Huron Police Department conducted a compliance check operation focusing on underage sales of alcohol to minors.

During the operation police sent underage decoys into 14 Port Huron restaurants and bars licensed by the Michigan Liquor Control Commission to sell alcohol. Of the 14 businesses checked, 11 were found to be in compliance by refusing to sell alcohol to the underage decoys.

Three establishments were not in compliance and were cited for selling alcohol to a minor:

1. Casey’s Pizza, 628 Huron Ave. Port Huron, MI

2. Wing’s Etc. 330 Quay Street, Port Huron, MI

3. Conner Street Pub, 2326 Conner Street, Port Huron, MI

The Port Huron Police Department would like to thank all of the establishments that were found to be in compliance and encourage all licensed establishments to check ID’s to prevent the use of alcohol by underage minors.
