Port Huron Elks Lodge #343 Donates Handmade Blankets to Veterans Clinic

Sue Hudy, Sandy Lashbrook, Shelley Murdick, Lee Reaume and Vicki Heino

Port Huron Elks Lodge #343 recently donated 25 handmade fleece blankets to the Veterans Clinic at the Yale Community Health Center.  The blankets are made weekly by Sue Hudy, Sandy Lashbrook, Shelley Murdick, Lee Reaume and Vicki Heino.

This donation went to local Vietnam Veterans who have extreme PTSD and live in a group home who were at the clinic during this delivery.  Each Veteran received one, it was like Christmas all over again as they were so excited to receive them.

Over the last two-plus years, Lodge #343 has donated over 100 handmade blankets, clothing, hats, gloves, disposable undergarments, and toiletries to our local Veterans facilities in Yale and Port Huron.
