By Barb Pert Templeton

Opportunities to celebrate New Year’s Eve and welcome 2022 are in place across the area with events and activities for all ages.

At the YMCA of the Blue Water Area the New Year’s Eve family party tradition will continue this Friday, Dec. 31from 6 to 9 p.m.

“We’ve been hosting this party for years at the Y and is a tradition for many- we were unable to host last year but look forward to welcoming 2022 together again,” President and CEO Josh Chapman said.

The cost to attend is $15 for members / $20 for community participants- early registration

$20 for members/$25 for community participants – at the door.

There won’t be a food concession but snacks will be provided and there will be music, although not live entertainment. Gym activities, games, arts & crafts, and a pool party are scheduled and all are staples of the annual event.

“It’s a great opportunity for families to celebrate the new year together, including a 9 p.m. balloon drop – helping start the new year right,” Chapman said. “Also, we tucker out the kiddos in case parents need assistance in getting the kids to bed early.”
