“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.”
During the Gulf War, Americans were introduced to a missile system that defeated the attacks of the enemy. The Patriot system is a surface-to-air defense system that tracks incoming missiles and deploys its own missiles to destroy the missile that is coming to hurt troops or people for which the enemy’s missile is intended to hurt.
Before there was ever a Patriot system created for the military, God had created His own defense system for the believer. It doesn’t matter what comes your way as a believer; God has a defense system to protect you from the hurt that Satan and those whom he uses would like to use against you to hurt or destroy you. Let me give you several observations from the verse above about God’s defense system.

First, Satan is going to attack you. There would be no need to defend yourself if there were no attack. My friend, you entered a spiritual war when you got saved. Many who compromise truth do so because they believe that they can avoid “needless” battles, but you can’t avoid battles if you are going to serve the LORD without compromise. If you serve the LORD, you are going to experience battles.
Second, Satan forms weapons just for you. The verse above says, “No weapon that is formed against thee…” Satan takes the battle personally, and he creates weapons that are unique to you so that he can destroy you. If Satan takes the battle personally, you should also take it personally. You will never win the battle against Satan and his forces with a passive Christian walk. You are going to have to get dedicated to the spiritual war that you are in if you are going to avoid being hurt in this battle. When the soldier becomes passive in the battle is when they lose their focus and get injured from the enemy’s attack. If you don’t want to become another casualty in the Christian warfare, you had better stay focused on the seriousness of the battle in which you are fighting.
Third, Satan’s weapons don’t have to hurt you. The verse above says, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper…” However, the key to this phrase is found in the last part of the verse which says, “This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.” In other words, the only way the enemy’s weapons won’t hurt you is if you continue to serve the LORD and continue to do righteous acts. The promise that the weapon won’t hurt you is only given to those who are “servants of the LORD.” A person is not a servant who is not doing anything for the LORD. A servant serves; therefore, the way to defeat the weapons of the enemy from hurting you is to continue serving the LORD. You must stop worrying about the attack, and keep your focus on serving the LORD and doing right. God’s job is to defeat the incoming attacks that come against you; your job is to continue to serve the LORD and not to become sidetracked with the enemy’s attack.
My friend, no matter what attacks you may face today, your answer for the attacks is to continue serving the LORD. Satan would love for you to focus on the attacks, but God promises that if you will stay focused on serving the LORD that the weapons formed against you will not succeed.
