“I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick: but I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with judgment.”
When you are around a person who is a game hunter, you will often see their trophy pieces on a wall. Usually the trophy pieces they hang on the wall have a phenomenal story of how they were able to kill it, or the size of the animal is the cause of it being their trophy piece. You don’t hear about fishermen or hunters putting a small fish or a scraggly animal on the wall because that is not considered a trophy.
If God were to hang pictures on the walls of Heaven of those whom He considers His trophies, you would find that these pictures would not be people of whom the world would consider trophy pieces. The verse above shows the kind of people God is seeking. When you look at the list that He seeks, you can see that you can become one of God’s trophy pieces, and you can see there are many around your city whom God could make into a trophy piece if you would reach them with the Gospel. Let me point out four types of people for whom God is seeking to make into trophy pieces.

First, God is seeking the lost. God can’t do much with an individual as long as they feel they can make it on their own. God is seeking for those who have lost their way in life, either because of sin or because of life dealing them a hard blow that they can’t seem to overcome. There are many in your city who are lost and need a Saviour, and God is looking to make them into one of His trophy pieces of grace to show the world that they can have an eternity in Heaven through Him.
Second, God is seeking those who have been driven away. Sadly, many people have been driven away because of our sinful actions. Those who have been driven away because of our lack of Christianity should be sought out with an attempt to bring them back to God. Just because they left doesn’t make them a bad person; instead, it is sin that has driven them away, and God can use them mightily as His trophy piece if the sin is removed.
Third, God is seeking to bind up the broken. Sin breaks people, and only God can put the pieces back together. It doesn’t matter how badly sin has broken one’s life; God can put the pieces of the broken life back together and make them into a great tool to use for His glory if He is allowed to do so. You may think that your life is too shattered for God to use, but God is the master puzzle-builder who can take the pieces of your life and put them back together to make your life a great mosaic piece for people to see His grace in your life.
Fourth, God is seeking to strengthen the sick. Sin has a way of making people so weak that they feel they will never get the strength they need to serve the LORD again. Let me assure you that God is seeking you and He wants to strengthen you so that He can use you again.
When you consider these four types of people whom God is seeking, it should bring an awareness about God’s grace and power. God’s trophies of grace show many scars of sin, but those scars only reveal His omnipotent power and grace. The reason God can use these four groups is because He gets the glory when He uses them mightily. My friend, one thing that you will notice in a church that is pleasing God will be a church that is filled with these four groups of people.
