One killed in crash near Algonac

A man passed away from his injuries in a head-on car crash in Algonac.

The accident also caused minor injuries to another person involved.

The St. Clair County Sheriff’s office responded to the crash Friday afternoon in Algonac on St. Clair River Drive near Liberty Street. St Clair County Sheriff Department say that a 68-year old man driving the car was traveling northbound when he crossed the center line, into the path of an oncoming pickup truck.

The man driving the car was transported to a Metro Detroit hospital by Tri-Hospital EMS where he later died of his injuries. The driver of the truck, an 18-year old from New Baltimore, sought treatment for minor injuries.

St Clair Sheriff Deputies say the 68-year old man have experienced a medical incident prior to the crash, which remains under investigation.
