One dead, seven injured from Sunday’s three-vehicle crash in Imlay City

By Arica Frisbey of Sanilac Broadcasting

A Sunday night accident involving three vehicles in Imlay City killed one and injured several others.

It was around 8:15 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, when an Imlay City police officer on M-53 for a speed enforcement patrol detected a pickup truck traveling very fast. However, before the officer could even attempt to pull the vehicle over, the truck and its driver, a 17-year-old from Macomb County, collided near the Borland Road intersection with two other vehicles.

With one driver dying instantly, a total of seven people from the three vehicles were injured in the accident, including two pregnant women and an infant. With three transported to McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital in unknown condition on Monday, others, like the 17-year-old driver and one of the pregnant women, are listed in critical condition.
