That time of the college football calendar has arrived; Wisconsin safety Remington Moss announced his intention to enter the NCAA transfer portal on Thursday.
Moss was one of two Badgers to announce their decision to depart on Thursday, following wide receiver Kyan Berry-Johnson. The news follows the team’s season-ending loss to Minnesota last Saturday, a defeat that ensured the program’s second consecutive season without a bowl appearance.
“First off, I want to thank God for every opportunity I have had so far,” Moss wrote on X. “Next, would like to thank Coach (Luke) Fickell and Coach (Jack) Cooper for giving me the opportunity to play at this level. With that being said, I am entering the transfer portal with four years of eligibility left.”
Moss joined the program in the class of 2025 as a three-star recruit, ranked No. 821 overall, No. 69 at his position, and No. 25 in his home state. He was the first player to commit to a Wisconsin class that finished the cycle ranked No. 26 in the nation.
The safety redshirted during his one year with the program and did not see any game action. He’ll enter the portal when it officially opens on Jan. 2 with four years of eligibility remaining.
Wisconsin is set for a busy transfer portal season, both because of a small incoming recruiting class and a long list of roster needs. Stay tuned throughout December and January as we track all of the program’s roster moves.
