Wisconsin basketball cruised to a 98-71 road win over Penn State on Thursday night.
The Badgers dominated the game from the start, jumping out to a 12-point lead at the 8:44 mark of the first half, owning a 50-22 edge at halftime and eventually leading by as many as 37 en route to the comfortable victory. The team received balanced contributions throughout the lineup. John Blackwell and Braeden Carrington paced the group with 17 points apiece, with Nolan Winter, Nick Boyd and Austin Rapp also finishing in double figures.
The win is Wisconsin’s fifth in a row, dating back to Jan. 6. The team has improved to 14-5 (6-2 Big Ten) in that time, reentering the Big Ten’s upper tier of contenders.
National rating metrics are taking notice of the Badgers’ dominant stretch. The team is trending positively in both KenPom and ESPN’s Basketball Power Index after its blowout win over Penn State.
