The Wisconsin men’s basketball team has just two more regular-season games before the start of the Big Ten Tournament, and the women’s team is getting started Wednesday, March 4.
The Badgers men (20-9 overall, 12-6 in the conference) are tied for fifth in the Big Ten standings, with the top four teams getting a triple bye in the tournament and the No. 5-8 teams getting a double bye.

The Badgers women (13-16, 5-13) ended the regular season in tied for 14th place. They’re the 15th seed in the Big Ten tournament in Indianapolis and open against 10th-seeded Illinois (19-10, 9-9).

When will the Badgers play in the Big Ten men’s basketball tournament?
That obviously depends on where they finish in the conference. Through the games of March 2, the Badgers were tied for fifth with Purdue at 12-6 in conference. The Badgers would have the No. 6 seed and, if that holds, they would face the winner of USC (18-11) and Rutgers (12-17) in a second-round game March 12. Wisconsin would naturally want to build its way up to a No. 4 seed, if possible, and pass right into the quarterfinals March 13.
Right now, Illinois (13-5 in conference) and Purdue (12-6 in conference) are ahead of Wisconsin in the pecking order, and UCLA (11-7 in conference) is one game back.
What channel will the Big Ten men’s basketball tournament be on?
The tournament will appear in multiple places. Yes, I know, you’re thinking to yourself, “Why even have a Big Ten Network if the Big Ten men’s basketball tournament games aren’t all on the Big Ten Network?” We share your pain.
Here’s the breakdown:
For the games on the Big Ten Network and CBS, Fubo has a free trial for new subscribers. The games on Peacock will require a subscription.

Heading into Tuesday, March 3 games, here are the standings:
When does the Big Ten basketball tournament begin for the Wisconsin women?
Wisconsin (13-16) has the No. 15 seed and will face No. 10 Illinois (19-10) on March 4. Played in Indianapolis, the game is scheduled to begin 25 minutes after the first game that day, which will start at 2:30 p.m. CT. Wisconsin’s game will air on Peacock, which requires a subscription.
If they win, the Badgers will face No. 5 Ohio State (24-6) at 5:30 p.m. CT Thursday, March 5, in a game airing on the Big Ten Network.
A win there would put UW into the quarterfinals against No. 1 UCLA (28-1) on March 6, also on the Big Ten Network. That game begins 25 minutes after the preceding game, which starts at 11 a.m. CT.

The Big East women’s tournament begins March 6 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. When do the UWM, UWGB basketball teams play in the Horizon League tournaments?
The 2026 Barbasol Horizon League basketball tournaments are actually both under way, having begun March 2.
The Milwaukee women’s team, seeded 10th, has already reached the end of the road. The women, seeded 10th, fell to No. 11 Detroit Mercy, 69-67, in a game at Milwaukee. The Panthers missed a potential go-ahead shot in the final second. Tierney Madigan, a Laconia High School alumna, shot 9-of-11 with 22 points to lead the Panthers.
UWM was led this season by Jorey Buwalda (12.1 points, 8.8 rebounds per game), who attended Randolph High School. Grace Lomen of Catholic Memorial added 10.7 points per game.
The Milwaukee men (12-19, 8-12) hold the No. 8 seed and will also face Detroit Mercy (15-14, 12-8), the third seed, in the first round, traveling to face the Titans in a 6 p.m. CT game March 4 on ESPN+.
The Green Bay men (17-14, 12-8) open play March 3, with the fifth-seeded Phoenix hosting sixth-seeded Purdue Fort Wayne (17-14, 11-9) in a 7 p.m. CT game on ESPN+.
The Green Bay women (22-8, 17-3) have their customary No. 1 seed in the conference and will play No. 11 Detroit Mercy (7-23, 4-16) in Green Bay on March 4 at 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
Phoenix forward Jenna Guyer was named the Horizon League Player of the Year and Kayla Karius was named Coach of the Year. Despite graduating seven seniors and more than 85% of its scoring from the previous year, UWGB won the league by two games. Guyer averaged 14.8 points and 6.2 rebounds for the Phoenix, leading the team in both categories.
(This story was updated because an earlier version included an inaccuracy. Top-four seeds in the Big Ten men’s tournament get a triple bye, not a double bye, and the next four seeds get a double bye, not a single bye.)
