The Green Bay Packers look to start the 2025 season 2-0 when they host the Washington Commanders on Sept. 11 at Lambeau Field.

The Packers opened their season with a rousing 27-13 victory over their NFC North rivals, the Detroit Lions.

While the debut of Micah Parsons grabbed much of the attention, defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley praised all the players under his command for containing a potent Lions offense.

Offensively, the Packers used a strong dose of running back Josh Jacobs and a passing attack that saw quarterback Jordan Love connect with 10 receivers against Detroit.

The Commanders opened their season with a 21-6 dismantling of the New York Giants.

One key in the game for the Packers will be their ability to limit talented second-year quarterback Jayden Daniels, who led the Commanders to a surprise spot in the NFC Championship Game last season.

Packers vs Commanders predictions, picks, odds

Pete Dougherty: The status of right tackle Zach Tom (oblique) and left guard Aaron Banks (ankle/groin) is shaky, and if both can’t play, that’s no small thing for the Packers offense. The guess here is at least one of them plays, and the Packers contain Daniels just enough to pull out the win at home on a short week. Packers 27, Commanders 24

Tom Silverstein: Last year, the road team was 7-11 in Thursday night games, so it’s obviously a challenge to travel on a short week and play your best. But Washington won on the road in Detroit in the playoffs and they won’t be intimidated. Commanders 28, Packers 26

Ryan Wood: I think Daniels’ undeniable talent will be enough to make the Commanders a contender this year, but this couldn’t set up any better for the Packers, getting a young quarterback on a short week at home. Oh, and Parsons had 4.5 sacks against Daniels last season. He helps. Packers 29, Commanders 20

Dominique Yates: The Packers have a lot of momentum after the way they played against Detroit and, much like most of the tough games on the schedule, they get this one at home. Give me Green Bay to get another win. Packers 31, Commanders 24
