Reading the outrage directed at the new East Wing under construction at the White House reveals that people are not happy unless they are complaining about something. The East Wing will feature a ballroom worthy of hosting dignitaries and visitors from around the world. It will present the United States and its leadership in a style and way befitting how our country should be presented.
It’s a documented fact that the White House has constantly been undergoing renovations, including Jackie Kennedy updating the interior. No one complained when Michelle Obama redid the State Dining Room or added a kitchen garden.
Everyone wants to leave their stamp on this world, and President Donald Trump — just like former presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama — is no different. The East Wing renovations paid completely by private donations are a practical and reasonable change. It is undeniable that future presidents will also add their stamp to the property.
