Fox Cities snow cancellations include play, concert, referendum session

With the possible blizzard set to reach the Fox Valley over the weekend, local municipalities and school districts are adjusting their schedules and rules.

Here’s what we know so far. This list will be updated.

Several Fox Cities declare snow emergency, forbid street parking

In most cases, declaring a snow emergency declaration means parking is not allowed on city streets. This allows snow removal equipment and emergency equipment better access to the community during and following a storm. In most cases, vehicles found in violation will be ticketed and could be towed.

Here’s which communities have made such a declaration, so far:

Appleton Area School District reschedules information session, cancels Frozen performance

A referendum information session set for 1 p.m. March 15 at Einstein Middle School in Appleton was canceled, but those interested in learning about the referendum have two other sessions available to them: 6:30 p.m. March 19 via Zoom and 6:30 p.m. March 25 at the district’s welcome center, 2701 N. Oneida St., suite C3.

Meanwhile, the March 15 matinee of “Frozen: The Broadway Musical” at Appleton North High School was canceled, with an additional performance at 6 p.m. March 18 set up to take its place.

Those with tickets to the 15th’s show can either automatically attend the 18th’s show, transfer the ticket to another evening performance, request a refund or transfer the tickets to a performance of the next show, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” set to run April 30 to May 3. Ticketholders should email the box office, at northboxoffice@gmail.com, with their preference by 5 p.m. March 15.

All Appleton Area School District buildings will be closed on March 15.

Kimberly Community Band concert canceled

The Kimberly Community Band’s spring concert is canceled, the Kimberly Area School District said. It was originally scheduled at 2 p.m. March 15 at J.R. Gerritts Middle School.

All Kimberly school buildings will be closed March 15.

Outagamie County offices close

Several offices will close in-person services March 16 including:

The Mosquito Hill Nature Center will close March 15.

Outagamie County Circuit Court closes for the storm

The Outagamie County Circuit Court will close March 16 because of the weather, according to a temporary order. All court hearings and Court Commissioner cases that were scheduled for the day will be rescheduled.
