The Detroit Pistons and Cleveland Cavaliers are getting the full experience out of the 2026 playoffs.
After both teams prevailed in seven-game series in the first round, they’ve now gone the distance against each other. The top-seeded Pistons and fourth-seeded Cavaliers are set for a winner-take-all Game 7 in their Eastern Conference semifinals series on Sunday, May 17. It’s the only series in the second round to go seven games.
Game 7 is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. Prime Video is the only way to watch the game.
A berth in the Eastern Conference finals is at stake with the well-rested New York Knicks waiting. The Western Conference finals features the Oklahoma City Thunder vs. the San Antonio Spurs in a series that begins on May 18.
The Pistons-Cavs series began with both teams winning each of their first two home games but it has shifted in favor of the road team in the last two contests.
Behind a rousing late-game comeback, the Cavs won Game 5 in overtime in Detroit, their first road win in the 2026 playoffs, to take a 3-2 series lead. The victory gave the Cavs a chance to close out the Pistons on their home court where they hadn’t lost all postseason.
But the Pistons thrive in elimination games. Cade Cunningham led a group of six Pistons in double figures to propel Detroit to a dominant 115-94 victory in Game 6. It was Detroit’s fourth win when facing elimination in these playoffs.
The Pistons are now seeking their first berth in the East finals since 2008, while the Cavs are eying their first trip since 2018.
