During the early morning hours of Feb. 18, a Marquette University student had a weapon drawn on her by a suspect, before being sexually assaulted and robbed, police say. Now, the university community awaits an arrest.
Marquette University police said the assault occurred around 1:55 a.m. on Feb. 18 after a man showed a weapon to the female student and assaulted her on the 900 block of 14th Street.

The victim was taken to the hospital following the incident.
Authorities said the man fled north after the crime. Later on Feb. 18, the university released video and photos of the suspect.
University police deployed additional officers to patrol the neighborhood following the incident, said Marquette Police Chief Edith Hudson in a letter to the university community.
“The only person responsible for a crime is the perpetrator,” Hudson’s letter said. “MUPD is working around the clock on the investigation.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 414-288-6800.
Where to find help
Marquette offers support for survivors of sexual assault, relationship violence and other related issues. It operates a hotline with advocates answering calls 24 hours a day and can be reached at 414-288-5244.
Hudson outlined other resources, including campus ministers, counselors and other staff available to support students as well.
A 2019 survey from the Association of American Universities surveyed over 180,000 students across 33 schools on sexual assault. It estimated 25.9% of women undergraduate students experienced non-consensual sexual contact and 9.7% of female graduate students experienced it.
