One person was killed after an SUV went the wrong way down an off-ramp and collided head-on with a minivan, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies were dispatched to a crash at 5:05 p.m. Nov. 27 at Interstate 43 and State 96/Shirley Road in New Denmark.
A Toyota SUV went the wrong way down an off-ramp for southbound I-43 to State 96, the sheriff’s office said, colliding with a southbound Dodge Caravan that leaving the interstate.
Two men and a woman were extricated from the minivan with serious injuries and transported to a hospital. A 37-year-old Two Rivers-area man was a passenger and died from his injuries on Nov. 29. The minivan driver, a 68-year-old Two Rivers man, and another passenger, a 64-year-old Two Rivers woman, were injured.
The driver of the SUV was a 67-year-old woman from the Pound area. She sustained minor injuries, the sheriff’s office said.
Alcohol appears to have been a factor in the crash, the sheriff’s office said.
