KIEL – A garage fire in Kiel on Saturday, May 23, spread to a nearby home and damaged a neighboring property, causing an estimated $150,000 in losses, fire officials said.
Kiel garage fire spreads to home on Ninth Street
The Kiel Fire Department was dispatched about 4:08 p.m. May 23 to the 600 block of Ninth Street.
Fire crews arrived about six minutes later and found a detached garage fully involved.
The fire had spread to the residence on the property and caused heat damage to a neighboring home and garage, the fire department said.
Fire under control quickly, cause undetermined
Crews brought the fire under control within about 10 minutes of arrival and remained on scene for about two-and-a-half hours for overhaul and investigation.
No injuries were reported.
The fire started in the garage, and the cause remains undetermined, the fire department said.
Kiel fire officials seek photos and video
The department responded with two engine companies, one ladder company and 20 personnel.
Assisting agencies included Kiel Ambulance, Kiel Utilities, the Manitowoc County Fire Investigation Unit, Wisconsin Public Service and Kiel police.
