It's not George Webb, but this Shorewood restaurant will also offer free burgers to celebrate Brewers win streak

A Shorewood restaurant is entering the free burger game after the Brewers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates for a 12th straight win on Aug. 13.

You might already know that the George Webb restaurant chain in Milwaukee offers free burgers after 12 consecutive Brewers wins. But so will Cloud Red, located at 4488 N. Oakland Ave. in Shorewood.

Cloud Red is offering the promotion on Tuesday, Aug. 19, in honor of the business’ history as a former George Webb location, according to an Aug. 14 social media post announcing the promotion. The promotion will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. or as long as supplies last. They will also offer veggie burgers.

The Cloud Red promotion will take place one day before the George Webb giveaway.

“We’re not George. And our burgers aren’t George Webb’s. But we’ve got a grill — and a strange sense of civic responsibility,” according to the Aug. 14 post.

“You don’t get a 12-game streak often. And you don’t get many second chances in life. If you missed your free burger on Oakland Ave. in 1987, this one’s for you.”

The Brewers’ Aug. 13 win marks the third time in the franchise’s history that the team has triggered the famous George Webb promotion.
