The Wisconsin Badgers continue their NCAA Tournament quest with a matchup against North Carolina on Friday night.
Wisconsin moved on after a first-round victory over Eastern Illinois on Thursday night. The team took care of business decisively, winning the three sets 25-11, 25-6 and 25-19, respectively. It will face a Tar Heels team that defeated UTEP 3-1 (24-26, 25-11, 25-18, 25-21). After that first-round action, Wisconsin rose to No. 10 in the NCAA Rating Percentage Index, while North Carolina jumped to No. 41.
The Badgers will be expected to triumph in Friday’s round of 32 matchup. They are looking to continue their streak of opening-round victories that extends back to Kelly Sheffield’s arrival in 2013.
