FOND DU LAC – The Fond du Lac Public Library has launched a new online tool to help people explore local history.
The Fond du Lac Collection is a digital hub that offers access to a variety of resources, according to a community announcement. It can be found on the library’s website under the “Research & Learn” menu.

The collection includes digitized copies of local history books, maps, atlases, city and county directories, yearbooks and an index of local articles and pamphlets. It also provides charts and forms to assist researchers in their work.
Accessible from anywhere
“This page will be a great resource for students, genealogists and local historians,” said John Serrano, local history and genealogy librarian at the Fond du Lac Public Library. “I’m excited to have this available for the community because it helps to make the past more accessible to everyone; whether they are here in Fond du Lac or elsewhere.”
The library plans to continue expanding the collection, with plans to add postcards depicting Fond du Lac County over the years in the near future.
More research options available
In addition to the Fond du Lac Collection, the library offers several other resources for history enthusiasts. The Winnefox Vital Records Index provides access to vital notices for Fond du Lac County and beyond. Online genealogical resources such as Ancestry Library Edition and Heritage Quest are also available.
Researchers can visit the Seefeld Collection at the downtown library, which contains more than 2,600 items related to the history of the city, county and surrounding areas.
Additional assistance can be requested by filling out a form at fdlpl.org.
