FOND DU LAC – How much snow fell in Fond du Lac during the weekend storm and “Blizzard Elsa”?
Snowflakes started accumulating before midnight March 14 and continued throughout the next day with periods of mixed precipitation before finishing with blizzard-like conditions March 16.
The National Weather Service’s report measured 8.5 inches of snow as of 9 a.m. March 16, the morning-to-morning total from the worst of the storm.
Outside of Ripon, the NWS reported 16 inches of snow between the city and Green Lake, as of 11:20 a.m. March 16.
Fond du Lac County is under a Hazardous Weather Outlook for additional snow expected Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. The NWS predicts a 100% chance of precipitation, with possible accumulation of less than 1 inch in Fond du Lac. This is expected to turn into rain Wednesday night.
After this, the temperature highs are expected to rise back to the 40s for the rest of the week.
