Fire crews contain Eden machine shed blaze before barn is hit

EDEN – A machine shed fire in the town of Eden caused significant property damage Tuesday, March 3, but no injuries were reported, according to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say a passerby called 911 after spotting heavy smoke coming from a machine shed at W2972 U.S. 45. Deputies and Eden Fire and First Responders arrived to find a 20‑foot-by‑60‑foot shed emitting thick smoke, prompting requests for additional emergency resources because of the risk to nearby structures.

Fire crews from Campbellsport, Mt. Calvary and the town of Fond du Lac responded, along with Campbellsport Ambulance and RIT4. The fire was brought under control before it could spread to a nearby barn and silo, which were not damaged.

The shed and several pieces of machinery inside sustained major damage. No civilians or emergency personnel were hurt.
