Convicted killer Taylor Schabusiness pleaded no contest Oct. 8 to a reduced charge in a case in which she is accused of attacking a sergeant at Taycheedah Correctional Institution in Fond du Lac.
Schabusiness, 27, pleaded no contest to misdemeanor disorderly conduct in Fond du Lac County Circuit Court. Before the case was resolved through a plea agreement, Schabusiness had a three-day trial scheduled for Oct. 27-29. She was originally charged with battery by a prisoner, a felony.
According to a criminal complaint, Schabusiness grabbed and pushed a nurse who was removing a staple from Schabusiness’ arm on July 24, 2024, and then attacked a sergeant who attempted to control her, including swinging a small metal table at the sergeant.
Schabusiness is serving a life sentence at Taycheedah for killing and dismembering her friend, Shad Thyrion of Green Bay, in 2022.
At her preliminary hearing in the battery case, Schabusiness attacked her attorney, Curtis Julka. It was the second time Schabusiness attacked an attorney representing her. During a hearing for her 2023 homicide case, she attacked attorney Quinn Jolly, appearing to strike him in the head with her elbow.
Attorney Christopher Froelich represented Schabusiness in both cases after Julka and Jolly withdrew. Schabusiness returns to court Dec. 1 to be sentenced.
