(This story was updated to add new information.)

The 2026 spring election in Brown County promises new candidates when voters go to the polls on April 7.

Votes will also be tallied with new machines bought by the county at the request of local governments, putting all Brown County votes under a single counting and reporting system, according to a De Pere staff memo.

As for the competitions themselves, the variety and possibilities are wide. Many long-serving officials decided not to seek another term. Some of those races have so many contenders, primary elections will be held on Feb. 17 to cut down the field of candidates to two. Still other races will be a shoe-in for candidates with no competitors at all.

Candidates had just over a month to collect required signatures, pull together nomination papers, then submit those to their local clerk’s office by 5 p.m. Jan. 6.

Here are the candidates for Wisconsin Supreme Court, county, city, and village elections, and then listed alphabetically as of the deadline.

Incumbents are marked with an (i). Races that will have a primary are denoted with an asterisk (*).

Information about your polling place and registering to vote can be found on the MyVote Wisconsin website at myvote.wi.gov/en-us.
